Day Zero, Year Two: Reflections

OKAY...so maybe I'm only 18% done with my Day Zero list...and up until today I was only 4% done (because I couldn't remember my log in information!)...but trust me e-friends, I am feeling the pressure.

83 life goals left to achieve in only 587 days...eh, eh *pulls on collar..nervous laugh* Well, considering I've only been able to check off 18 line items in 414 days..I am getting quite a bit anxious at the stack of unchecked tasks lining themselves up in front of me.

Tick. Tock.

TICK. TOCK.

As the amount of days gets less and less, the stack evolves into a bmx course, complete with obstacles...and by next month it will feel like Expedition Everest with a Yeti waiting for me at the summit!

Okay, I'm trying here! Time to step it up. 2011 - get ready(yes, I realize it is already the end of March, but I'm trying to remain positive).

Deep breath. Serious Face.

ATTN BAKERS: Business Opportunity in Cancun

All last week, I lived in a world of decadence. Doused in sun - gorged with fine food, drinks, scenery - surrounded by wonderful people, culture, music - yet, there was still one thing missing for me:

DESSERT

Now, if you know me, you know that I cannot survive without sweets. I live on them, thrive on them - breathe in conjunction with the consumption of them. And to be honest, Cancun, Mexico...you are really lacking in the delectable after dinner department.

Sure, I had some great tiramisu gelato (at an ITALIAN restaurant, mind you), and I could pay $8.00 USD for an imported peppermint patty in any of your tiendas - but really, besides flan (which, let's be honest...isn't all that great), what have you got?!

Nothing.

Which is why - Bakers of the US - I would like to let you in on some sage business advice:

An amazing opportunity awaits you below the border. Move there - set up your wares - preferably wares that involve being able to make delectable cupcakes, cannolis and cheesecake - and open up shop. STAT.

If by this time next year you have taken my advice and are being raved about on the Mexican version of Yelp! (if that exists)...please, please, please...give me a shout out....at the very least...give me a free cookie.
